Arrow tools

To select only one element :

  • Activate the arrow tool.
  • Click on a wanted element (on the outline for open path way, inside a full and closed form).
  • The control dots are displaying around the element to confirm your action.
To select several elements :
  • Activate the arrow tool.
  • Select as before the wanted elements by keeping your finger on the Shift key.
Or :
  • Draw a selection rectangle around a group of elements. If the rectangle which contains the objects, start by an element already selected, press the Ctrl Key simultaneously. You can also add to the selection with the Shift key.
Notes : when one or several elements are selected :
  • Vincent Draw point out the selection by making appear, at the 4 corners and on the side, some block control dots, which permit to distort the contained elements in the selection.
  • When only one element is selected, also appear some of path way control dots that you can move or delete (Del key) from which you can insert some news dots of differents types (arc, line, spline).
  • When the cursor of the mouse passe, either in a corner of a rectangle-block, either in a path way control dots, the form of the mouse’s cursor change.
    • In the first case, the cursor has the form of a small arrow with two sens pointed out the sens of the possible bending (see : to extend or reduce elements).
    • In the second case, the mouse’s cursor appear under a cross form pointed out that you can move or delete (Del key) this control dot.
  • . It is possible to cover the elements by selected consecutively in order of their creation by activing several time the Tab key or in the opposite order of their creation by activing the Shift and Tab key.

Move of the elements with the mouse

  • Select one or several objects.
  • Then, by pressing the left button of the mouse and by keeping your finger on the key, move the block-rectangle at the wanted position.
  • Release the button of the mouse : the objects of the selection appear at the new position.
Note : during their move the objects display their outline, that allow to place them one in relation to the others with a huge accuracy. To place a rectangle only including the objects, activate simultaneously the left and right button of the mouse during the move. Or to reverse the working order, activate the box to tick off Quick move of the dialogue box Preferences.

Move of the elements with the keyboard :

  • Select one or several objects.
  • Hold the Shift key pushed by activing the arrow, top, bottom, right or left key.
  • The move obtained correspond to a step of the magnetic grid.
Move of the document with the keyboard in the draw window :
  • Press on a arrow, top, bottom, right or left key of the keyboard.
Note : It is possible to move an element under another open document. The starting element is not deleted. Then, to move several elements, you must group them before.

Extend or reduce the objects :

  • Select one or several elements or groups.
  • Move the mouse in one of the 4 corners of the block-rectangle (block control dots) which contain the selection, then, keeping your finger on the left button of the mouse and move it.
  • Release the button of the mouse : the elements of the selection appear extend or reduce.
To extend ou reduce proportionally elements or groups of elements :
  • Proceed as below by pressing the right button of the mouse and keeping your finger on the left button.
  • Release both of them (the left button first) : the elements of the selection appear extended ou reduced proportionally.
Move the path way control dots
  • Move the mouse on a control dot
  • Press the left button (if two dots are superposed it is the last created which is selected).
  • Move this control dot and keep your finger on the mouse’s button.
  • Release the mouse at the place you want.
Insert a path way control dot :
  • Select only one path way with the left button of the mouse.
  • Activate the draw’s tool corresponding at the type of dot that you wish to insert (line, arc, spline...).
  • Place the cursor of the mouse on a control dot, the cursor change into a cross.
  • Press the left button of the mouse and mouse the mouse to the place you want.
  • Release the button of the mouse.
Delete path way control dots :
  • Select only one path way with the left button of the mouse.
  • Move the cursor of the mouse on a control dot, the cursor change into a cross.
  • Activate the Del key : the control dot is deleted, the element is redrawed with the control dots left.
  • If two dots are left, the complete element is deleted.
